The UMM of First Church is an active group of dedicated Christian men of all ages.  One of the purposes for this group is to help each other grow in our spiritual lives through fellowship and service.

We meet the first Saturday of every month for fellowship, which includes breakfast, devotions, special programs and a brief business meeting.

Our programs consist of a variety of speakers, some with challenging opportunities to serve, and others with interesting information!  Some previous speakers include:

  • City Mayor, Tom Rowland…State of the City of Cleveland
  • Traci Shellhouse…New Hope Pregnancy Center
  • Barbara Eckert…Teen Learning Center
  • Captain Saunders…Chaplain, Tennessee National Guard
  • Herman “Thunderfoot” Weaver…Thunderfoot Ministries
  • Ken Webb…CEO, Cleveland Utilities
  • Buddy and Sarah Chance…FUMC members and avid world travelers

Our meetings are open and we invite men, young and old, to join us!

The UMM host several fund-raising events during the year, such as our Fish Fry, Chili Cook-off, and the famous Matt Ellis Memorial BBQ!  Monies from these events support organizations that we financially support, including, but not limited to: The Caring Place, Cleveland Emergency Shelter, Mary Diana Samuel Children’s Home in India, Camp Lookout, Sacred Road Ministries, FUMC youth camping scholarships, Scottish Rite Shoe Ministry, and our Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.   We also participate in many other church-wide and community-wide activities and events.
